Trans Tales from the Vaults

While we seem to have some extra time on our hands, now is the perfect chance to bone up on your trans his OURstory. Come connect with other Trans* Lounge members to learn some fascinating historical tales of our many trancestors; and then chat about it afterwards.

Our trans and queer history is rich and vibrant but also human, gritty and sometimes salacious. Join Gina Bigham in an exciting interactive workshop that is part listening party, part talkback session as we go through the many episodes of the amazing trans historical podcast One from the Vaults with Morgan M. Page.

In this monthly 90 minute online workshop; you will begin by listening to an episode of One from the Vaults via our dedicated ZOOM room. We’ll start with season 1, episode 1 and go in order. We will share the Soundcloud file and you will listen to an episode of the podcast together with the rest of the group. This portion can be headphones only, if you prefer. Episodes are no longer than 30 minutes. Following the podcast, we’ll have an hour for discussion and feedback on what you’ve discovered.

This is a really fun way to learn our truly amazing and under-appreciated tales of trans past while connecting with your community in the present. And in these current times, we can all use some connection and inspiration.

CONTENT WARNING: As the One From the Vault’s tagline states… “We bring you all the dirt, gossip, and glamour from trans history!” While our history is bold and beautiful, it is also very real and some of the subject matter can be triggering. You may encounter outdated language and perilous situations but that is part of taking in the good, the bad and the ugly of our amazing history.
