Housing & Living Support Services
PLEASE NOTE: The shelters included on this list have received a “101” training workshop for frontline shelter staff, educating staff on the realities facing TGI/ENBY+ folks, especially those who are Black or of color, and ensuring they know about the strong legal anti-discrimination protections for TGNCI shelter clients in the state of CA. This training was provided by Swadhin Consulting, Community Partners and the LA County Department of Public Health who have partnered to train from 2018 through 2021. This training is in no way a guarantee the staff one may encounter will be as educated or inclusive as they should be. There is high turnover rate for frontline shelter staff, and training can only do so much. These shelters serve general populations, and are not for TGI/ENBY specific needs (unless indicated as such), and there may be difficulties such as binary gender-segregated housing and/or policies. This is not a resource for seeking litigation, those resources can be found in the Legal section.
This index is primarily for services based in Los Angeles County. Not all resources here are specifically geared towards gender expansive and TGI/ENBY+ folx (Trans, Gender Non-Conforming, Intersex & Non-Binary), but resources which are have been indicated in the Accessibility column.
